If you knew, or cared, how many freshmen and true freshman WVU is starting this year on both sides of the ball, plus a new qb who'd never played a game before, you'd have some inkling why Mizzou happened.

WVU has talent, but it's young inexperienced talent. And the oline has zero-00000000-depth, and that's thanks to your old oline coach who DH didnt take with him to Houston.

So WVU starts 3 freshmen on the oline. 3 at wr, 2 at safety, 1 alternates at nose(he's 17 years old).
No excuses, just saying a team this young and inexperienced, if well coached, will grow each week. Mizzou was a month ago. WVU has had 2 games and alot of practices since then. texas will have it's hands full Saturday. WVU may not win, but it will punch texas in the mouth. Count on it.
You need to familiarize yourself with the following charts, which show the SP+ projections for each Big 12 team. If you do, you well learn that WVU is most likely to finish with four or five total wins. Your chances of winning nine or more games are about 1 in 100.

Please be careful during your re-entry to earth's atmosphere. We'd hate to see you flame out.

This is unreal.……… Mostly about the WVU delusion... WVU is going to get their doors beat off of them this season. They'll lose big to Texas, the Pokes, Baylor, K-State, and probably by 50 to ou..What will be your reason then? Those are just the guaranteed losses, I'm sure they'll drop another to TCU and maybe to someone else.

FWIW, I've heard local Austin radio sports talk show guys that cover the Longhorns and B12 repeatedly mention this week that the thing Texas coaches and others in the conference have noticed is the increased physicality from WVU ( defense in particular). While they all believe UT will roll this weekend and in the near term, several of them have stated they view WVU as more of a long term “threat” competitively under Brown then they did previously, and they expect him to produce nastier rather than flashier teams.

Wow. I really wish I had the fortitude.....

Dude, they are playing your team. Really think they are going to call them what they really are? There is no benefit in saying they suck because there is no upside for UT fans, win or lose.

And I guarantee you the hosts have spent less than five minutes looking into WVU and that most likely consisted of scanning the standings and recent headlines. Without a program they could not name 3 players on the WVU roster, know no other staff than the HC, and have no idea who they have coming in or recruiting rankings.

1. OU - The schedule has been weak...but OU has done what was expected so far and ran through their opponents.

2. Texas - A win over OSU and the only loss came to LSU.

3. Oklahoma State - A solid win over KSU after the missed opportunity in Austin.

4. K-State - The wildcats had the best non con win and look to rebound after a loss in Stillwater.

5. Baylor - Still undefeated..but a really weak non con and a near collapse to ISU puts the Bears at 5th for now.

6. TCU - The frogs rebounded against the jayhawks after a loss to SMU.

7. WVU - Oppurtunity awaits with UT coming in possibly looking ahead to OU?

8. Iowa State - The cyclones have under-performed so far. 2-2 with TCU coming to Ames.

9. Texas Tech - A blowout loss without Alan Bowman in Norman.

10. Kansas - A blowout loss to TCU followed by OU headed to Lawrence. Yeesh.

Dude. The purpose of power rankings are to talk about the CURRENT season, not two or three seasons down the road. Take your lumps this season like a man. Quit crowing to other boards, hoping they will acknowledge the validity of your delusions.

This ^^

Also, I think the conference overall is going to get stronger in the next few years, so WVU better get their stuff together or they'll be consistently 8-10 in the big 12.... ok state, ou, texas, baylor, k-state are all trending up in the future years... I just don't see any pulse from wvu that would indicate them being able to make some jump in the coming seasons. If I were to give a prediction for the next 2-3 seasons, I'd say it's going to similar to the same top 5.... ou until someone knocks them off (looks like they are only going to improve), Texas will have Ehlinger another season and will improve on defense, Ok State is set with Sanders and isn't going anywhere and consistently pump out top flight WR's, Ruhle has Baylor turning into a decent fb team, k-state will only get better when he brings in his players, and finally it'll either be TCU or ISU for that last top 5 spot.... No chance it's WVU.

"They see a 6-foot-4, 235-pound linebacker who stands out in the huddle. WVU doesn't have someone who looks like him."

They are saying WVU hasnt had a lb like this-ever. Raw speed, strength, and size. Yeah, it's one 5 star, but you're taking the worst player off the defense and replacing him with a killer. Defense was already pretty good. They didnt give up a point against mizzou in 2nd half(pick 6 doesnt count). held nc state to a pair of fgs in 2nd half.

Former 5 star Alabama prospect kicked off high school team for fighting, out of Bama for assault, is now on the straight and narrow and makes his debut against texas. Texas wont be laughing when this guy lights up their qb. They say he has a mean streak and likes to light people up. Players say their glad it will be the other team now, rather then them in practice.

WOW, some dudes on an Austin radio station talked this week's opponent up? That's something to write home about right there! Watch out big 12!
