OSU is in a different place, but so is the prestige of making a bowl.

In 1980, there were just 15 bowls.

In 1989 there were just 18.

In 200, there still was only 25

Plus, teams only played 11 games a year back then.

Now....
There are 40

Power 5 teams like OSU only have to win 1/2 their games to make a bowl.[/QUOTE]

And then add the fact that you can schedule 2, even 3 wins in the non-con.

I'll watch various bowls, like I always do, simply because it's another football game & the season's winding down.

Having said that, though, the sheer number of bowls & players sitting them out just diminishes their significance, imo.

I have no problem playing aggy again. Their fans are so delusional, that their tears are some of the tastiest.

Hope Sanders and Hubbard play. Pretty close to a home game for aggy though and that is why i think the spread is what it is.

I think both Sanders and Hubbard will play. I think Hubbard will play to man up and get his 2,000 yards...I think Sanders will be nearly 100% by then and will be itching to restart after missing the last two games.

1- The Alamo didn’t have to take what UT wanted into consideration.
Maybe I'm too cynical, but everybody has to take what UT wants into consideration, especially if it impacts TV revenue.

I think people from both political parties are actually consulting with the UT athletic department as to the best moves to make in the impeachment hearings.

Yes, when you play in a league where the league actually makes it a penalty to flash a horns down (they can stick it in your face all day long), you might be on to something.

Agree here

1- The Alamo didn’t have to take what UT wanted into consideration. They simply pick who they want and whether the Texas bowl picked A&M or whoever really didn’t matter. They are two picks downstream.

2- The only team/conference who get to pick who goes to the Texas bowl is the SEC who has sent A&M elsewhere every time they could have matched with a Texas team.

Dodged UT in 2014
Dodge TT in 2015
Dodged UT in 2017
Dodged BU in 2018

Coincidentally they are happy to pair them with non-TX teams in bowls Vs the Big 12.

2014 Liberty Vs WV
2016 Texas Bowl Vs LSU
2019 Texas Bowl Vs OSU

The Texas Bowl obviously wanted OSU. Regionally known brand, regional fanbase that will travel, exciting offense, Chuba, etc
That would have been the final insult in UT “we’re back” 7-5 season is to pair them with Aggy in a bowl game . The LOL from around the country would have been pretty loud.

The Big 12 Bowl Games all look interesting. Only one conference team is favored but I think they will win at least two games and possibily three.

Every year there is somebody saying no Big 12 teams will win their bowl game and every year the Big 12 does well.
