Cuba First: Barack Obama Says Florida Democrats Will Help Make Cuba Great Again

Former President Barack Obama urged Florida voters on Friday to support Democrats to improve the lives of Cuban citizens.
“We need to get back to politics that’s for the Cuban people, make their lives better,” Obama said during a rally in Miami, Florida. “That’s change.”
The former president criticized President Trump for rolling back his efforts to open up communist Cuba during his 2016 visit with Raul Castro.

He complained that Trump was “doubling down” on the “outdated Cuba policy” of the past.
“All that does is hurt families and entrepreneurs who are trying to open up the Cuban economy,” Obama said.
Obama praised Democrat candidate Andrew Gillum and Sen. Bill Nelson for supporting efforts to help rebuild the economy in Cuba.
He blamed Republicans for “fear-mongering” on the issue.
“The point is, Florida, they make stuff up,” he said. “But also, the problem is, too often, we fall for it. Too often, we fall for the distractions.”

The Communist Party remains in control of Cuba’s government under leader Miguel Díaz-Canel, who took power in April.

If Florida actually elects such a far left socialist radical to be their governor then they deserve what they get.
LOL

Well, I'm a conservative and I already voted for that "far left socialist radical". First time in over 20 years that I voted for a Democrat. So that should let you know that he isn't isn't a socialist radical. The real problem is that the Republicans are fucking up this state and they need to bet put in check. DeSantis is an idiot who would do whatever his party and Trump tells him to. We need less of that.

Well I wish you well with that but stand by my original statement. Please note that I don't think DeSantis is that good either (just the lesser of two evils), don't you have any Libertarians on the ballot.

No libertarians, but I'm not doing that anymore. The Republicans control the House and Senate, let Gillum control the governor's office. Much better than what the Republicans would do if they had all 3 like they have for a while now. If the Dem's had the House and Senate I would hold my nose and vote for DeSantis.

No, not true. Republicans kissing corporate ass has led to an environmental nightmare. Schools are nowhere near where they need to be for a state with this many resources. Several other things as well. So many things that tie directly back to Tallahassee.

So you think taxing corporation at 40% is going to increase revenue? The opposite could happen if you lose corporations currently in your state and discourage new ones to come which will end up costing the state money. All you have to do is look at the how Trump tax rate cuts has boosted the economy and increased the revenue to the treasury. Punishing the job creators never turns out well.

You seriously need to read something other than all those fake news sites you constantly post here. Everything you just posted is either an exaggeration or outright lie. In case you haven't figured it out this isn't a zero sum game. Not all taxes are a bad thing. Plus, Trump's tax cuts didn't do anything for an already booming econmy. It just led to a ton more debt that will ultimately help lead to another downturn.

BTW, I never said anything about taxes. I said they kissed corporate ass and helped lead to an environmetal disaster. I know a lot of Republicans think any environmental regulations that costs corporations even a single penny is a bad thing, but trust me, most were put there for a reason.

No, tax revenues are down from the result of the tax cuts. You punish job creators by refusing to adequately support education as Oklahoma has been doing. So employers move on to another state that supports education better. Ultimately, it really the business people who are already in Oklahoma who are punished.

The 2018 number is higher than the 2017 number. That is called an increase.

What's the "environmental disaster" in Florida? Hint: There is none.
