2 minute warning, 4th and long, QB fumbles and what does the O-Line try to do everytime? (see GB and CHI last night if you want an example).

When its 4th down it doesn't matter who falls on it, the defense gets possession. The only way out would be to kick, bat, pickup or otherwise keep the ball alive to try to advance it for a 1st down. I know falling on a fumble is drilled into them from pre-school on, but where is the 4th down situational awareness?

Also, why try to intercept a long pass on 4th down? You get better field position by batting it down.
