I would love to see a %age of kids who either select their biggest/best offer, picks big school close to their home town, or picks a big school far away for either Nike effect like Oregon or NFL effect like Bama. Feels like a big waste being #19 to the party....why are we so late to offer a kid a few hrs away? Have we ever outrecruited a long list of blue bloods when we were one of their last offers? What’s the point of just jointing the catalog of offers
Well they don’t commit when we are #19 to the party either. I’m just trying to think of someone that had 2 dozen plus offers that we offered late and got. Getting Tanner from AR and a couple others was big but have we ever stolen someone with 18+ offers?
Wait, there was a thread a couple of months back with many complaining because we ranked near the bottom of the list based on the number of scholarships offered. Gundy has said in the past there is no reason to offer a kid with a low expectation of signing but many here believed that is defeatist and "nothing ventured, nothing gained". Now that they are throwing around offers like a Shriner throwing candy from a midget car during homecoming, THAT is now wrong? Just goes to prove the old adage about pleasing all the people all the time. Or maybe it is damned if you do, damned if you don't.
