No JoJo? Heard he is heavy or was heavy. Not sure what his cut or body will look like in a month
Just a gut feel on my part. I don't think he has the fire burning. I just read where he certified at 184. I'd rather see guys like Chandler and Jacobe that really want it, get the spots. Wouldn't mind being wrong. Maybe JoJo works out at 184.

WOW! I knew he had trouble making 157 sometimes, but 184...
I think he'd need to seriously bulk up in the weight room to have any kind of an impact there.

My guess.....

125 Pic
133 Fix
141 Kaid
149 Boo
157 Shomers
165 Chandler
174 Jacobe
184 Geer
197 Weigel
Hvy White
I really have no idea what is going to happen from 165-184. I'm honestly not 100% sure the coaches know.

Pay attention to 25-33 throughout the year. It'll start the way you're projecting, don't rule out a change during the season.

From what I've seen the weight jump has been very beneficial for Kaid. Now I'm leaning towards him probably landing the spot. Still "could" go either way though.
That's great news. Would really hate to see that guy leave OSU without winning at least one title. He's just so damn good from his feet.

165-184... that's a real doozy. But somebody mentioned that Joe qualified for 184, but technically couldn't he qualify for anything over his minimum healthy weight? I don't imagine he'd be able to get to 157 and it be good for him. Plus with Shomers at 157 just roll with that.

I honestly think it's Chandler at 165. We know he fits there and what we can get out of him there (an exciting match or a devastating loss). Then it's just the Smith brothers at 174 and 184. Pick which one fits and go there. Of course with Geer there... damn.

It's really tough to speculate.

I think Picc at 125 and Fix at 133 is best for the team. I think Fix at 125 is best for him. Maybe Picc has been bulking up some in the off season for a potential move up. He's not a big 125.

Rumors that JoJo was walking around north of 200. No way in hell he gets down to 157. Not likely to 165 either in my opinion. Jacobe is wrestling at 174 for the All-star match. Hard to know how the new guys like Shomer and Geer rank in the room.

WVU beat big 12 foe n colo. 22-14 last night to start the Flynn era.
He doesnt have much to work with this year bc he was hired after recruiting season and WVU had mosely quit plus he lost some recruits the prior coach had recruited.

Someone posted the future is bright and said this:

The big WVU driver up from Pittsburgh is Jim Akerly and his Quest Wrestling Club. Lots of Canon Mac guys and other WPIAL's. He coaches some of the best. He hated Henson and refused to let his guys come to WVU with him as a coach. With Flynn in charge, the flood gates are open from Quest.

I hope WVU is more competitive more competition only makes the league stronger and improves the # of wrestlers in the NCAA's from the conference. I don't think WVU will be challenging any time soon, like the next 3 years but they could be better than what they've been the last couple of years.

Not on sure whether or not Nick has been bulking up.

I agree that the roster is stronger with him 25 and Fix 33. And that it is better for Fix individually if he's at 125. I just know that there is some conversation about Fix eventually going down to 25. I would guess that push is coming from him as it would be better for the team for him to go 133.

My hope is with him starting out at 133 that he just has a lot of success there, maybe beats Gross at the SDSU dual, and decides he can win a title without making the cut, then stays at 33.

That said, I also don't think it hurts OSU to have a four-timer and one of the next greats in the sport. He probably has the best shot at being a 4-timer if he's at 125 this year, so there is potentially some benefit to the team as a whole, if he does go 125 and that helps him win 4.

Joe's big, but I don't think he's 184 big. Probably walked around weighing roughly that coming into the season, but I don't think he'd try and wrestle there. 20 pounds sounds like and is a pretty big cut, but a lot of guys go it. He "could" make 165 IMO if he goes for it. Whether or not he's going to I'm not sure. Definitely not going to be 157 though IMO.
