    Shooting at Texas High School

The response was to address your previous "makes you sound like a ideologue" comment. I presented solutions that are pragmatic in that it is give and take from both sides. I am not talking about banning anything or arming teachers to the teeth. Just apply lessons learned in common security...

You quoted my entire post, and this is your response? Okay. Not very useful at illustrating any point or proposed solution/problem. Answer: Highly speculative and I have no idea. The USA would not be the place we live in today in more ways than just gun violence. Hell, the USA could be a...

Here is the round about argument again. I said I don't see the USA a culturally, economically, and governmentally the same or similar enough to the countries you cite to where differences in those 3 categories can be so easily dismissed. I fully admit that I do lean toward the 2A than away. I...

I have made up my mind. I've seen both of these arguments. I have seen the facts. I don't find the European comparison model persuasive. I don't see a correlation between gun ownership as being directly proportional to gun homicide/death/violence in the USA, which seems to be the basis of the...

    Shooting at Texas High School

We're getting more and more into the arguments that don't ever go anywhere. I'm not a statistician but I think controlling for any cultural, governmental, and economic deviance would be more telling. I don't think comparing the USA to European countries is that helpful. I think more telling...

I do find it curious that these mass shootings do not seem to happen at inner urban schools (or are not reported). What are they doing differently?

A slowbleed out until death because the root cause is never addressed is not what I would call HOPE. I think Rixaroo nailed it earlier: generations of unstable homes are leading us to unstable kids. So long as that is not addressed, no hope.

Yes and no. Current consumer tech can't do it as well as mass produced injection molding, but it's getting there. Also push your idea to the gun itself. That's not THAT far off on a consumer level either.

Ah. I see where we differ on opinion. I see no hope of bigger results as I don't think guns/2A are the root cause. As such we will find gun owners dying a death of a thousand cuts. There is very little compromise to be made on 2a because it isn't the problem.

Re: mags. I've seen demos where beginners with moderate prep and training can do 2-3 second mag swaps. Limiting mag capacity does very little to stop a prepared and trained aggressor. On the flip side, it does benefit a surprised defender.

If 2A advocates get everything they want, then once again, no compromise. Why should the gun controllers have the conversation?
