    Oklahoma teachers planning to strike

Piedmont will be going back to school on Monday as well, but somehow don't need to add any extra time to meet the yearly requirement, so my kids just got an extra two weeks off with no makeup. Not sure how they had the extra time though.

    Oklahoma teachers planning to strike

My wife went to the nail salon last night and of course got caught up on all the latest gossip. Apparently our teachers are planning for this to last 2 to 3 weeks! They believe it will take that long to actually get the legislatures attention.

After watching that video it sure looks like the Lubbock police need to find a better way to attach their body cams.

    The triggered snowflakes thread

Ok fair enough, my use of the word clickbait may not have been the best choice. My point though is that this story in no way shows any signs of snowflakes if you actually read it and follow what is said. No one thought that a math symbol was scary, it was comments made by a student that were...

Yes but they are counting on that headline to spread through social media getting them lots of clicks thus really the same thing.

    Obamacare’s Massacre of the Innocents

Maybe but Ted always struck me as a stuck up idiot. If I am partying with those guys none of us are driving (plus a good round of antibiotics afterward would likely be needed).

Not sure what kind of an answer that is but you should know that I work in this field so I am not just making this stuff up.

    Obamacare’s Massacre of the Innocents

I want to both laugh and throw up at this thought... I bet Bill would be real fun to party with though, especially back in the day.

    The triggered snowflakes thread

Serious question, you do know how the internet works as far as advertising and marketing goes, right? For the most part any site that is trying to make a profit (or even just to stay up), a site must get enough clicks to generate ad revenue, or be funded by its readers. For the clicks the...

    The triggered snowflakes thread

Coco answered this question much better than I can so just read his comment in regards to this. I guess my point is that the article is going for the easy low hanging fruit of "OMG they thought a math symbol was a gun" to generate traffic, when the real question of what the student actually...

    The triggered snowflakes thread

The article did not say what was said and yes almost all media now have had to resort to click bait headlines to stay in business. They are trying to survive on shrinking ad revenues and need clicks to get their numbers up. A headline like that and some of the story gets people to come take a...

    The triggered snowflakes thread

Ok maybe some of you forgot to actually read the article. It does not say that people thought the symbol was a gun, but instead a discussion about it looking like a gun led to one student making concerning comments. "After several students made comments along those lines, another student said...
