    Wuhan Coronavirus

There may be nothing we can do. If you or I have a heart attack at the peak of this we may be s*it out of luck because there aren't enough ICU beds to handle people who would normally be in there. It didn't matter how well we tried to avoid this, something else happened at exactly the wrong time.

    Wuhan Coronavirus

This is a real issue. In a vacuum social distancing is important right now but with a natural disaster it's hard to do that. But that's something that is to be expected during this. The whole point of what we are doing right now is to give medical services the opportunity to handle what they...

    Post-COVID 19 Predictions

I can see remote officing and telemedicine becoming bigger after this. Personally, take away the stress of the moment and trying to balance it with homeschooling, and working from home wouldn't be an issue. I can perform my job duties just fine, and in some circumstances better as if something...

    Wuhan Coronavirus

In South Dakota it's up to individual cities. I work with someone whose on the city council in a small town in SD. He said they considered doing things there similar to other states but the places that it would impact were already doing it on their own so it wouldn't have made a difference.

The death rates will be lower because of the "scare tactics." They are less scare tactics and more precautions to keep our healthcare system from being overrun.

    Wuhan Coronavirus

I get your concern and don't want to make light of what you are getting at but it points to the wide discrepancy in testing in different parts of the country. What you are saying is in San Francisco, if you are exposed you are encouraged to get tested regardless of symptoms. In other areas...

    Wuhan Coronavirus

From the article, "With many losing their jobs and a deep recession potentially looming, alcohol sales could drop in April."

    Wuhan Coronavirus

I think it's pretty standard in a lot of places. As far as the lockdown goes, at least here, is travel isn't restricted as much as social distancing is enforced. Our country sherriff posts daily updates on Facebook and he's made it pretty clear that if you are out doing things at an essential...

I agree on lack of planning. With us citations are delivered by the county but the sheriff said on social media he's confused by what that means. Everyone is supposed to stay at home except for essential businesses. It's ag country so 75% of the county's workforce is essential. Its kinda hard...

    Wuhan Coronavirus

How concerned are you about local ordinances? If I remember right you live in or near San Francisco and that would put you on a fairly strict lockdown right now. I'm in a rural hotspot-25 confirmed local cases as of today which aside from the Twin Cities and Rochester makes us the most...

@ksupoke said he got a text from him today so I'm assuming all is well.

    Wuhan Coronavirus

That's an interesting take. I'd agree with Townie here. Right now a lot of everyday politics are meaningless and if we get real leadership going forward with this that's going to be more important to people than partisan disagreements 6 months ago. And let's be honest, Trump could piss on...

    Your "Stay at Home" name

Chicken Strip Indian Edit-should have gone with Indian Chicken Strip. That would have given me a legitimate reason for hoarding all the TP.

Honest non trolling question. If Hillary was President and doing the same thing, do you think there would be an outcry from the right or would we be going with it sort of like we are now.

Ask Italy, or Iran, or China. Maybe our response was better or maybe this one is far worse. I'm guessing the latter.

    Wuhan Coronavirus

It's ok to question the administration's handling of this. Like I said, a humanitarian mission 2 months ago I have no issue with. Not being prepared for it to happen here and downplaying the possibility (moreso actions than words) I have an issue with that. No one saw what this could become...

    Wuhan Coronavirus

Either way 60 days later it would be better off here. 60 days ago it was the right thing to do. Of the dozens of things I fault the administration for this isn't one of them.

    Wuhan Coronavirus

She's not wrong (the decision in hindsight not the words) but at the time it was a humanitarian issue and I don't see how you can fault him for doing something to help China with this 2 months ago. It doesn't help the timeline as if we saw they were in deep shit then domestically the...
